  - A GEORGE I WALNUT CABINET

A GEORGE I WALNUT CABINET

A fine quality George I walnut cabinet, of good proportions with a bold concave cornice, above a pair of well matched highly figured walnut veneered doors, cross banded and feather banded throughout, enclosing adjustable shelves. The slightly projecting lower part below a waist moulding; and standing on bracket feet.

This piece is distinguished by its grand proportions and particularly fine quartered burr walnut veneers. Cabinets of this form and quality were rare, and is indicative of the work of a leading cabinet maker of the early 18th Century.
